So the England under 21's are out of the European Championships after losing their first 2 games.
This group of players just wasn't good enough. Fact. Having said that other Countries put in players that have played for the senior team into their under 21 squads for Championships such as these. We don't as we see it as a backward step for them and stops their natural progression.
I really don't know why this bothers some people as the under 21's is a way of getting used to international football and major competitions. The fact that we were outclassed just shows how far behind other European countries we are at this level.
Stuart Pearce has done wonders in getting them to the finals and is a passionate, patriotic man. Instead of saying well done all we say is has the time come for him to step down as under 21 boss. Sums up the quick fix culture this country has. My Dad always says patience is a virtue and sticking with someone for the long term just may get you where you are going.
