FA Cup


Millwall reached the semi finals of the FA Cup thanks to a 42nd minute header from captain Danny Shittu. Blackburn almost leveled but Leon Best had a shot cleared off the line by Shane Lowry.  Millwall now face premier league Wigan Athletic at Wembley in the semi final.


Champions League

Victory against Bayern Munich was nearly possible! Arsenal came away with a 2-0 win however went out on the away goals rule with the aggregate score being 3-3. Olivier Giroud and a Laurent Koscielny header in the 86th minute set up a tense last few minutes. The German side holding on to progress to the semi finals.


Cricket 

Second test, Wellington - day one

England finished day one on 267-2. Nick Compton (100) and Jonathan Trott (121 n.o) shared a second wicket partnership of 210. Alastair Cook fell for just 17, caught by Fulton off the bowling of Wagner. Whilst Compton went for 100 caught by Taylor off the bowling of Bruce Martin.


Day two sees Trott resuming on 121 n.o and Kevin Pietersen on 18 n.o as England look to pile more misery on New Zealand after their decision to bowl first.
